Kia’s Engine Fix Under the Microscope

The recall is to see if the engine has a knock that is not audible. The knock sensor is used for this exam. The software installed after the test resets the parameters that the computer uses with the knock sensor. If the computer sees stuff at a parameter, it will automatically put the vehicle in limp mode. The recall is not a fix. The fix is the engine replacement. If the knock sensor after the software ends up putting the vehicle in limp mode, they will end up replacing the engine.

Kia's are junk!! My 2017 had nothing but problems. Wasted over 10k in repairs to just end up blowing the engine. Ugh. My sons coworker has a 2020 kia minivan. Just 3 days ago, She left work, got on 81 and it blew a rod, hitting fuel line, and was fully engulfed in flames in seconds. Her vehicle burned to a crisp. She barely made it out. Thank God she didn't have her 5 kids because this would of been a majorly horrificly sad event!!!!! Do not buy Kia!!!!!

I have a 2020 Kia Soul. I need to add one gallon of oil every 4,000 miles between oil changes. Black oil and spots on my driveway every time. Other than that, I like the car. Would I ever buy another one? Definitely not!!! Just keep making those payments….

I just put a motor in my 2020. Kia would do nothing to help. Kia in general needs to be put under the microscope to make them do something to clean up their mess and be accountable. 🤬

Well, I just bought a 2025 Kia soul. I’ve had it a month so let’s see what happens. I pray for the best.

software will not fix faulty piston rings... if the oil control piston rings will not control the oil from getting past the rings thrrs a bigger problem... there could also be problems with the cylinder itself

I Have A 2020 Kia Sorenta…That Needs A Motor…After Many Trips To The Dealership Telling Them That My Oil Was Being Consumed Way To Fast…Test Were Done That Was Suppose To Be Normal Usage….Def Something Manufactered Wrong😢

My 2021 Kia seltos is using oil just as much as it uses gas an I take it to the dealership an they said there's nothing wrong with it but I have did the oil change at 3,000 miles from whenever I got it and it also has the dash light up like a Christmas tree in the heavy rain an go into limp mode but they say that there's nothing wrong with it and only has 87,000 miles on it.
