Big pots of soup, chili, or stew are lifesavers. Buy the cheapest cuts of meat, add beans and veggies, and cook low and slow. Freeze portions for later, and you have a week’s worth of dinners for a fraction of the cost. Last month I cooked a pot of chicken and bean stew.
