Carnival Ditches Costa Maya Cruises
Carnival is quietly pulling the plug on most of its Costa Maya stops starting October 2026, all because Royal Caribbean bought the port and is turning it into their own private playground—Perfect Day Mexico. Only Royal Caribbean and Celebrity guests will get the VIP treatment, while everyone else just gets to look at the epic new waterpark from afar. Costa Maya was boring as Hell. Going one time was enough. There are only so many excursion can do. Im tired of Cozumel too. The ship is definitely the destination.

Costa Maya NOT a favorite stop, especially when 5 cruise ships are in port at same time.. not big enough for that many people

No loss for us. Long walk to see the same old stuff. Last two cruises we just stayed on the ship.
