Why Your Grocery Store Might Disappear Soon

Many years ago before you had all these big box stores we had mom and pop stores We had butcher shops and vegetable vender Plus milk man I would love to have these business back Especially pastry shops

Yeah ..it's all about profits and greed.

they need to clean up the old stores or close them and open some new stores I love Kroger's deals and their app

All of the Krogers that I’ve been in lately are filthy and out of a lot of products! My now go to is Aldi!

Kroger’s in Ashland KY priced paper towels $3.00 higher than Walmart. And, Kroger’s is nasty and has eliminated fresh meat displays. They are short lived! Gouging at its best.

Have you tried online ordering. If they are out of something they either skip it or try to give you a substitute which is something you would never buy if your item wasn’t available if you were in store doing your own shopping. And if ask for a can of pasta and out of it they might substitute another can of pasta but usually won’t let you switch to a box of rice or a frozen food instead, like you can if you are actually in store your self I absolutely hate online ordering for groceries because you rarely get everything you want, you get substituted items you never wanted and usually over charged from the original quote

Because the baby boomers have all retired and they now can’t figure out how it all works

Mom and Pop Grocery stores used to operate on a 2 to 3% profit margins then corporations, with their abilities to shift costs from one area to another ,forced them out of business to eliminate competition. Now greed has taken over and if the stores don't produce record profits the stores are closed and the workers and customers are left with no alternatives.

If you live in an area where shoplifters have proliferated, it will be closing.
