Hospital Wait Times Turn Deadly for Teen

You know why people wait so long? It’s because people use the ER as an urgent care or their PCP and it’s fills up with non urgent issues. If people would stop misusing the ER, wait times would be reasonable.

Note.....this is what universal healthcare does

always profit over patient care........if you go to hospital in ambulance you are seen first........

That’s why you never drive yourself to an emergency room always calling an ambulance he gets seen quicker

I took my Mom to St Vincent Ascension Hospital on 86th st in Indianapolis Indiana and had to wait 12 hrs just for an ER bed. She had a broken elbow and pelvis and was in severe pain at 86 years old. Had to wait longer for a bed in the hospital. When she finally had surgery after 2 days, she had no ortho bed to go to so they took her back to the same floor where she got such bad care, the doctor was furious that she had not been moved to the Ortho floor day after day. I couldn't leave her so I stayed for 3 weeks with her. Not being on an Orthopedic floor caused her stay to be longer. It was so bad that the floor we were on 7th had been receiving complaints after complaints. I am a RN/BSN and I was appalled with the poor care from travel nurses from other countries and techs not knowing the patients! Horrific experience in Healthcare nowadays! Never leave a family member in the hospital alone! Ever! Believe me when I say this!🙏😲🤔

Illegals using the ER as a Dr office clogs up the system.

like lots of big hospitals they have a big building but not a lot of staff..they use doctors who have offices somewhere else and go to do a shift at hospital once or twice a week so sometimes only one or two doctors on duty in e.r. with a hundred patients. and they have to wait for.x.rays or test results to come back from a lab with 1 person working in it ...big buildings no staffing is the new normal..no more full staff to run the big hospitals go see a doctor but sent to different places down the road and around the corner for blood test.then sent down the road and around the corner for skin test then send down the road and around the corner for eye test and you have to wait for an appointment at these places then wait for all to send results back to doctor then wait for an appointment again to see doctor...hospitals use to be one stop shop...now more like a busness ..

A Damn Shame!!!. Good they are suing the Hospital. Where I live at they only have 1 Dr. in the E.R. at night. I was actually there when a patient had died who had breathing problems.

this is in Canada. Free health care?

This happens in America too. I recently waited 6.5 hours to be seen in an ER for a serious medical condition.
