Colosseum Tragedy Sparks Big Changes?

I imagine the heat is oppressive especially around all that stone that absorbs the heat and radiates it. I would never go there in the summer months myself.

The ironic humor of a tragedy at the coliseum bringing about change. At the coliseum. A death. Can you hear a thousand years of gladiators yelling?

More people get run over in cars in one day that suffer and die from the heat. So are we going to ban cars?

no. I have been to Rome in the summer and the heat plus the humidity was oppressive. we literally walked from one drink cart to another as we headed to the Sistine Chapel. we did this in long sleeves and skirts as that was the dress code at that time. I can't imagine how my father in a suit coat and tie made it through that day. that was in the summer of 1988, one of the hottest summers on record at the time. I cannot remember if we had any guided tours that were not underground (we did go see the catacombs just outside of Rome.)

I’m in the Louisiana summer heat working all day everyday and I’m 100% certain it’s much more labor intensive than tour guiding. No disrespect to the deceased but most people are pansy’s nowadays. Even the young folks.

3rd week of October is best. weather in the mild 70s.

As a Texan, I would brave a summer in Rome if I could afford it. I spent a Christmas in Rome years ago but it was too cold for me!
