I adopted the saddest cat at the shelter

Show him you love him and care about him. Take good care of him and he’ll show you unconditional love right back. It’s one of the most beautiful things in life.

I adopted a ginger cat that had some type of trauma, for 2 months he lived in the basement( plenty of places to hide) . I left the basement door open, so when he was ready to come upstairs at his own pace.I sang to him, I made up a song with his name in it and sang it everyday for almost 2 months. The cat would hide and wouldn't even eat till I left the basement, Then one day I was watching a movie and my dog would rub up against the side of the couch so I could pet and tickle him, and low and behold my red cat was intertwined with me dog and I was petting the dog and the cat at the same time! the cat let me tickle, scratch and I even got a belly rub in! my dog had a secret relationship with my cat the entire time..12 years later my red cat is always by my side, greets me when I come home and is truely a lovely cat..😻😻😻

Post an update in a couple of months when those eyes are happy again.

Last time I went to adopt a shelter I went in and asked for a "used" cat. I explained I was old and knew what it was like. The shelter workers went out of their way to show me the oldest and saddest cats. I didn't want the pet to out-live me and it feel it was abandoned again. She lived 5 years and was loved everyday in her truly forever home.
