Pharmacies Are Ghosting Telemedicine Patients

Nearly 1 in 3 people using telemedicine for opioid addiction can’t get their buprenorphine prescription filled at the pharmacy. The main issues? Pharmacies don’t have the meds, insurance headaches, and some pharmacists are skittish about telemedicine scripts. Even though buprenorphine is FDA-approved and can save lives, it’s still tough to access—especially in rural areas. Absolutely 💯% needs to be fixed. I have a friend that uses Walgreens and she jas to wait several weeks to even get her neds. This definitely has been a problem the past 2 or 3 yrs.

I live less than 5 minutes from a Walgreens. I was driving 1.5 hours to pick up my pain medications at Safeway. I had used Safeway before moving for 20yrs. During my 1st visit, the DE head pharmacist stated rudely that they don't serve customers who fill "those," kind of medications at their store. Long story short, it was a living hell every month for over a year getting my scripts filled ( not only on time) but lying continually about receiving the scripts and when they could be filled. cont.

im a vet tech, anytime a client asks me to call a med into Walgreens I straight up ask what their second choice would be because ill be on the phone for an hour trying to get something called in. 🤡

I don’t see how it’s different from an in person dr. In person; they very very very rarely assess anyway. The only time I’ve been truly looked at and assessed over the past 15yrs. Is when I’m asking them to. Barely placing a stethoscope on my chest then back for 20sec is NOT ENOUGH

There are times that tell a Medical option is helpful for people that have no way to see a doctor on a regular basis with minor issues

I think it depends on the state you live in. I use Telehealth for my meds and have never had a problem with Walgreens filling them
