Stay away from Medicare advantage it’s not Medicare

My husband had a stroke in 2020 and Medicare paid 80% and our secondary paid the remaining 20%. We owed nothing. My friend had problems with her advantage plan so when open enrollment came open she switched to Medicare and also got a secondary. Medicare did not send my husband home until the doctor said he could go and they also paid the outpatient therapy with no problem. Yes we have a secondary because from the beginning we knew that Medicare pays 80%. Every insurance agent I talked with about the Advantage plans says if at all possible stay away from them.

Yeah, go ahead and sign up for an advantage plan🙄. They, not your doctors, will dictate how long you can stay in the hospital. Bet your bottom dollar it’ll be less than 90 days😳🤷🏼‍♀️.

In my experience with Medicare at the ER room, they will leave you in the hallway on a bed. If you have a mental health emergency, they take you to county facility .
