Stage 2 Harley Upgrade: Worth the Hype?

I thought about doing it stays to upgrade on my 09 ultra classic but on that bike, you have to do stage three because because the cam upgraded will only fit in a phase 3 for that particular year bike so I just left it alone. It has plenty of power. Nothing feels better than 80 miles an hour at 29 RPMs and six gear smooth.

Depends a lot on what you're starting with. My 16 V-rod already has 120hp, for a $1000 I'll finish my stage 1. Hoping for 5 more hp. If I could find stage 2,3 or 4 parts it would cost $$$$, and only net me a few more hp. My grandson rides a Sportster "48" 1200, that bike would probably be a great candidate for stage 2 or 3!

The VRod was the right thing for Harley to do, it’s one of the best engines they ever made. It was marketed poorly. So the just kept making the same old V Twin and charging more for it. That was a mistake that might put them out of business for good

V rod engine was great would have loved that on my Electra glide. Harley should have given people an option to have it on other motorcycles beside the v-rod.

ITS A TWIN CYLINDER. A twin okay. As in 2. Huge stroke with push rods. Funky V angle, Funk port angles. Funky Y intake angle. Heavy ass lump. Don’t try carving corners or beating shot out of it. Clunky Transmission with a huge primary chain and a shit crank dampener. Mounted in rubber biscuits. Heavy as frame loaded with floppy plastic pieces. Half assed fork finally disk valves in the cheapest way, in one leg. Sketchy ass wire throttle. Just ride the heap, wash it constantly. And make the outrageous payment. Kay!
