How a 401(k) Turned Into $1 Million

401Ks are a goldmine. It's amazing how many people turndown free money. And then complain about their retirement. A young couple, who each have 401Ks should be able to easily retire with $2M.

I have $85,000 in a 401k from a previous employer. I’m 57 and been on Disability for almost a year. I have my 401k in the S&P 500 and its been good the last few weeks but I don’t know what to do, leave it there or move it to something else. I know nothing about this stuff! Help with suggestions please! I have 2 children I want my money to grow so I can leave it for them if I don’t need it!!!🤔🤔

He said he was 57. If this 401K was from his last employer he might be able to use the rule of 55 and withdrawal penalty free to put it in other accounts.

I violated the number one rule with my 401k. I kept the money in company stock. Even though the stock price was low I got dividends to purchase more stocks. The stock price went up and down over 40 years but my dividends let me purchase more stocks Finnely the stock price went to $95.00 per share I had over 11,000 shares over a million in the 401 k. I moved the 401k to an Ira being able to withdraw $5,000 a month take home $3,600 for 20 years. Money I never seen what a surprise
