I would advise anyone thinking about adopting this lifestyle to do one thing first. gather up, buy or otherwise acquire every outdoor accessory you can imagine and go primitive camping for at least one week. make a list of the things you DIDNT bring, and a list of the things you need that you COULDNT bring with you. now think about living this way full-time, and you're still only breaking the surface. most people have no clue about the hard work involved in going off-grid, the money involved in getting started on even the most basic levels, and how thin the margin of survival can be.
