The companies that invest are publicly traded and give people who invest their pensions in the market in these types of assets positive gains. BYR’s have become popular because there is a need for housing and not everyone is looking to be an owner. There are many who prefer renting particularly if they are not the type to Settle down. Just look at the average age of the first time homebuyer today. I think it’s 38? People are waiting to start families as well. Things are changing and the needs of people are changing as well. It’s not such a bad thing because if you didn’t have these people creating legal rentals for the market, the people looking to rent would be renting parts of homes like they do in parts of NY potentially creating an unsafe housing situation.
