ADHD Meds: More Than Just Focus Pills

how many of you people commenting about addiction, how you wouldn't take these meds. STOP, if you, don't suffer from ADHD, YOU have NO right to comment on something so personal to others.

still a narcotic. still an addiction. can the multi trillion dollar tax evading medical extortionists over our health just give the drugs necessary for folks to function at their peak potential. medical industry is the leading culprit in addictions when they literally refuse to cover or acknowledge over 2 dozen non narcotic & botanical based alleviations for ailments

I have ADHD. All stimulants put me to sleep while Benadryl keeps me up all night. So does alcohol.

I agree as both someone in healthcare and DX with ADD in my 30s that many parents are quick to solve behavioral issues with meds. HOWEVER! Those who truly need this medication it is truly life changing. It not only helps my ability to complete task more efficiently but it regulates my mood. I think it is very easy to sit in judgement when it isn’t your personal struggle. The bottom line is…. Educate yourself, be honest with your doctors and don’t just take a pill because it’s easy , if u need it then you need it, period. I have had 3 doctors in 20 years try and take me off, all putting me back on it and admitting I NEED the med. So back off the high horses and open your minds to the science as to why they are given in the first place

it's truly needed for some of us! I unfortunately have been self medicating for YEARS and yet when I take Adderall, I feel normal, I function normally, I get things done correctly in the past few months/ year. I have tried NUMEROUS medications from antidepressants to antipsychotics and none of them really ever worked for me. and take care of myself!! I would have never self medicated if I had been prescribed the correct medication a long time ago! but I've only been diagnosed

Amen ! I need adderall for my disabilities and cannot find a doctor to agree ! Meanwhile I am slowly just slipping away from being the productive person in society I was for 57 yrs prior to being wrongfully terminated by my millionaire boss who replaced me with someone that he could get to accept half the hourly wage I had been earning ! I think I should receive alimoney like his wife did. Can I get an amen ?

For me- being able to have everything straight in my brain - so I can function- so I can complete tasks - so I can find a “finish-line” … is the best gift I have ever gotten from a medical provider in my life. I wish I had met her sooner… all the drugs I did to try and keep myself afloat - the suicide attempts because I was overwhelmed and couldn’t take it any more… the disappointment I had within myself. It was a battle every day. With ADHD medication I am finally “alive”. Self medicating is not the way to go… but who knew? Eventually, you will find a provider who will listen to you. Who will help you! Don’t give up.
