Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Primate Forest construction has meant big adjustments for some of its most beloved residents. While most animals moved out, the rare gharials and the orangutans stayed behind, adapting to life amid the noise and bustle. The gharials, tough to relocate, have become more nocturnal, while the orangutans clearly miss their daily interactions with visitors. Despite a few surprises—like watching a fire from their enclosure—the animals are holding up well. When the new habitats open next summer, they’ll have more space and new ways to interact with guests. How do you think animals handle change? #News #ClevelandZoo #AnimalWelfare
