Don't let them convince you Not to get a pap after the age of 65. stay strong and fight for it. just because you are older does not mean you can't or won't have serious issues. I know from personal experience!!

I was always tested and complained for 5 years about cramping and a dull feeling. My gynecologist and primary kept telling me it's nothing probably constipation. Was having severe pain one morning and went to the ER. 6 hours later I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. A simple blood test (CA124) would have showed this many years prior. It sucks to be pushed aside

unfortunately they keep changing when you can get a mammo and pap and God forbid you're my age 60 then they just write ya off like you ha e lived so testing isn't important

I work for an insurance company. Plus, I saw how the system treated people when my mom was sick before she passed. I have learned YOU HAVE TO PUSH AND ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF! No one knows your body better than you do! Don't let them brush your concerns to the side as something else! Push them to order the tests and scans! Don't be written off due to your age or it's PROBABLY THIS OR THAT! Your care shouldn't be determined by throwing tea leaves in the air (figure of speech)! They wouldn't guess a diagnosis if it were themselves or a member of their family. So they shouldn't with you either! Learn to take a stand and say something if you don't agree with them. Your life could depend on it!

That was me except it was breast cancer. I had no symptoms. I had a routine mammogram and a biopsy which showed the cancer. It was caught early.
