another company that has the same problem is Best Buy. they schedule people by based on last year's sales. I hate to break it to them but it does not work. I have proof. iwon their achievers contest back in 2001. I was the service centers lead. I made out the schedules putting the best people in the busiest times to work. our group of techs won. since then nobody has ever won because of computer based schedules.

there are too many chiefs. one doesn't have a clue what the other manager wants done. communication is lacking. worked 4 years and literally ran my feet into the ground.during Christmas i ran all over the electronics dept. I had to stop for a break i took my shoes off and both feet were soaked. I took off my socks and both feet looked like a surgical knife cut them both open all the way around. I gave notice to the manger on duty. and went home. Did he store call me? No!
