NEED HELP! Found a suicide note in a thrift store jacket
I was shopping at Goodwill today and picked up a coat. When I got home to check it out, I found something inside. What should I do — return it, or keep it?

I can't believe how many comments about goodwill when the real discussion should be the suicide note found. wow...

This just goes to show goodwill doesn't filter through or wash their donations. They sell unwasged used clothes for the same price as Walmart sells their clothes. I bought a pair of paints from good will still had the original tags on it they were rustle brand Walmart was selling for the same exact price but there was a small beginning of a tear in the crotch. I didn't notice until I got home unfortunately and goodwill doesn't like doing refunds or exchanges or at least the one here don't.

Goodwill uses their profits from donated goods to rehabilitate drug addicts, alcoholics etc. They train them in a marketable skill and even give them jobs after. They don’t try to force any religion on them, like the Salvation Army.

well I was at a goodwill store a lady came in with little girl with just a little jacket on and heard her ask if she could please get her little girl a hat and a warmer coat as they we’re homeless and walking the worker said no I can’t help you so of course I told them get what ever they needed and I’d pay for it the lady got a real good piece of my mind she should have been fired in my book

Before knocking goodwill look into some of the AMAZING programs they provide to the community AT NO COST. I am currently in their Excell program getting my high school diploma and they provide childcare all at no cost to ME because of the most earned from the donations! I am very appreciative to Goodwill!! They are helping me change my life!!

Y’all so extra. It’s just a note she probably didn’t kill herself. Why would they donate her clothes if she killed herself.

I'm going to try to make a difference for others that may be feeling overwhelmed, and scared in this world. I'm going to try to make anyone I see that looks like they might be struggling in this world to feel better. I'll listen when someone asks for my time & ear. I will not feel put out if someone calls last minute. I'll be patient with anyone that may be acting out. I'll try to be patient with others in the work worlds for I'm sure they're struggling in today's world too. I will focus on bringing joy to this world in difficult situations. Perhaps my kindness will prevent someone from ending their own life. Life is short and it only gets better by being better people.

I don't know what city/state you are in, so post this on a neighborhood board, like Next Door, adding which specific Goodwill store you got it. You can even contact your local news station. This is a human interest story. I would want it back. For all we know, Emily could have slipped it in Valerie's pocket, and Valerie never saw it! The note is not very crinkled.
