My favorite summer memory… It was the summer in two-thousand…something, after I left husband number two. My son (from husband number one, now 28) and I moved in with a friend of mine. She had a pool, and on my weekends we spent a lot of time there. It was an above ground pool, about five feet deep, maybe. I remember carrying him on my back, his cold, wet arms clasped securely around my neck. Then he would jump off and want to play “Mortal Kombat” - I obliged, and we wrestled through the water, using our best martial arts moves, until one of us would yell “Finish Him!!!” and be declared winner. Looking back at that memory today, I remember how beautiful that feeling was…the one where you walk on water and can do know wrong. It’s the last stop before puberty. You soak up all that love and admiration for as long as humanly possible. That’s what I did that day. I closed my eyes, knowing the moment wouldn’t last forever. Today, I let it wash over me like rain. As I lovingly bid farewell, for a while, to that special day, I smile at all of the extraordinary memories since then. I am blessed✨ #SummerMemory
