SNAP and the Question of Accountability

I’m a 33-year-old taxpayer, working two jobs to support my family. Every time I read about SNAP spending, I notice reports of groceries being bought for non-essential or prepared foods. I worry that the program is being stretched beyond its original purpose. It feels like there’s little accountability for how benefits are used. I want SNAP to help those truly struggling, but I wonder: should there be stricter guidance or limitations so taxpayer money isn’t used for luxury snacks? Well I am sure who’s more inaccurate Have you seen a snap shoppers cart Some get 800 to 1000 in benefits a month They have every bit of junk food imaginable Their kids get the good snacks and drinks While I have to get few and off brand to get a few items as a treat They get ribs, steaks, seafood while I buy hamburger and some pork No one wants anyone to go hungry but what they buy and then run out of money before end of month and go to food bank

they say don't get junk food well I am 65 on disability and get very little food stamps and i can't work so I'm suppose to not enjoy my sweets or treats because I am on assistance. I worked 47 years in my life and even though I get assistant i earned it. I did ask to be in this situation but shit happens.

Within the past week I witnessed someone attempt to sell $65 worth of EBT benefits for $20 cash. That kind of thing concerns me. What i don't know was the plan for the cash. I hope it was a need, not a want.

Everyone on government assistance needs to drug test. You fail you never get benefits again. That would solve a lot of problems right there. Random drug testing

good in theory, not in practice. not everyone has a place to cook things so convenience store food tends to be a go to.

Welfare is to help house get by not a generation thing .. and should only be given to those that need it for a duration of time as to supplement there grocery bill not support them for life

Snap is not fully funded by tax payers money No, SNAP benefits are not fully funded by state taxpayers; the federal government pays for 100% of the benefits themselves, with federal and state governments sharing the costs to administer the program. State taxpayers only contribute to the program through their state's share of the administrative costs, not for the actual food assistance dollars💵
