Ingredients: • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar • ⅓ cup (40g) all-purpose flour • ¼ tsp salt • 3 cups (720ml) whole milk • 3 large egg yolks • 1½ tsp vanilla extract • 1 tbsp (14g) unsalted butter • 4 bananas, sliced • 1 box (340g) vanilla wafers (approx. 45 cookies) • Whipped cream or meringue for topping (optional) Instructions: • In a saucepan, whisk sugar, flour, and salt. Gradually whisk in milk. • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened • Whisk a bit of hot mixture into yolks, then return to pan. Cook 2 minutes. • Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. • In a dish, layer wafers, banana slices, and pudding. Repeat layers. • Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
