Definitely a safety net, definitely abused and frauded probably beyond belief. My son, 43, who worked and paid into the “system “ since 16 yrs. of age got an autoimmune disease (PMR) last year (Oct) and was unable to work or care for himself. My wife and I was his only source of support. He tried everything available and received nothing. Just this last Sept. he was approved for $24.00 (snap ) a MONTH. This month he was well enough ( that’s another story)to go back to work…. Thank God . Moral of the story, difficult to get any assistance WHEN you really need it. NOW, if he had been an illegal, a single mother with kids ( more the better) the help was limitless… “ what can we do for you”? I do want to commend Amgen, who approved him for very very expensive medication at no charge, it was a God send and got him to where he is today, health wise. It is SAD and unbelievable that there are 42 million people ( can’t say Americans) on government assistance…! You don’t think there are some scammers??? #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk
