There's no doubt the system needs to be re done. People need job training and programs to help them get off of them in periods of time. Elderly and disabled area different story but there are millions that have lived on them for decades and that's not what the program is for.

45 million equals 15% of our nation is on food stamps/ snap🤔. that's a pretty large percentage. I totally agree that program needs to be investigated thoroughly

Agreed! I just read someone's post crying about SNAP. Claiming that 1 in every 8 Americans are in the program. Seriously? I was brought up to work hard and care for yourself and family. That "money doesn't grow on trees." To not rely on our government or anyone else. I'm not rich by any means but have always worked hard and able to care for myself. Single female. Hasn't been easy. These people can always go to their local food bank. My neighbor does.
