I believe there is a need, but i believe that a thorough vetting process should be done for each person requesting these benefits. I know if many people that think the taxpayers should support them and they don’t need to work. Any recipients who are not disabled should have to work, at least 25 hours a week. Random audits on eligibility and the satisfaction of the work requirement should be conducted. A time limit for receiving benefits before reapplying should be implemented.
