I keep seeing comments like “people just need to get off the couch and work.” You ever been sick and still tried to stand on your feet for 8 hours in a warehouse? My neighbor lost his Medicaid because he didn’t meet the new work requirement — he’s 59, bad knees, no car. Now he’s skipping doctor visits. Enroll in a flower arrangement class, be a volunteer grandparent in a school (many of those get around on walkers), visit a nursing home and ask them to give you volunteer hours. There are these and many more things that people can do to earn 80 volunteer hours a month. First thing is develop a can do attitude.
