My Elderly Neighbor Knocked at 9PM
Mrs. Harper is 74 and lives two doors down. Last night, she knocked on my door asking if I had any bread to spare. Her SNAP didn’t load, and she didn’t want to bother her daughter who lives out of state. I gave her half of my loaf and some apples. She cried a little and said, “I worked 40 years for this country.” That sentence stayed with me all night. #SNAPInterrupted #SeniorHunger #CommunityCare

My next question to this particular person would be yes. there's a lot of people that work 25 years, 30 years, 40 years paying taxes and such but you were told all along that Social Security is not enough money to live on. so did you listen and save up your money to have some extra going into retirement to live on? I understand you needing help for food and I understand you getting SNAP by to blame the government because you don't have enough social security to live on and not saving for retirement while working. those 40s years is not the government's fault

Yes times are so tough,some people do not make enough at there job but that is they can do.sometimes you try to stash money but unexpected things keep popping up in life for some of us. Medical bills,divorce,rents higher then ever & food even if I saved up years ago still not enough for people who are making minimum wage.which is a joke that they expect us to live on $14-$15hr
Not possible these states are not helping

Work us to death for shit pay, become the American way& it sucks!should not be like this here.single working moms who have 3 kids to feed have to work these low paying jobs are struggling bad.they depend on snap for help now they can’t feed there kids, whole worlds screwed up no one cares about no one, problem in a nut shell✌️🙏
