loving each other for one thing and compromise, compromise. if he wants to watch the ball game and it's really a good ball game let him. you don't go out to bars without each other.

65 years of compromise and sharing for us. Show partner complete respect.

After 40+ years its sometimes 50 50, sometimes 60 40 but always talk, hold hands and still leave a lil love note now n then especially if on different shifts!

Keeping a sense of humor has been a great help for us.

I'm a 75 year old male married to the same woman 50 years. From my experience I can tell you that not everyone of those years will be happy. Life has a way of entering into the greatest of love stories. The struggle to simply survive providing food, shelter, and clothing along with the mundane chores of life requires couples to pull together not against each other. A woman needs constant emotional support and communication. A man is much simpler. Food, the occasional romp in the hay, and some outward show of appreciation. Over simplified but still beats the psycho babble written by so called experts married numerous times. It's not a bed of roses nor is it a crown of thorns.

way too much emphasis about wedding day. but it does give a peek into life under stress. been married 52 years with many stresses over the years but choose to weather them together. not always warm and loving feelings but worth it. love becomes a deep satisfaction of life together.

Been married 60 years. Not only do you have to love him, you have to LIKE him. He has to make you laugh and enjoy some of the things you do. Be sure to have your own bank account so you can escape if he doesn't treat you right.

We are at 48 years.Married during senior year of high school with a child before graduation. Marriage is hard work. My gramma told me, if you want to be treated like a queen, treat him like a king. God, our faith and friends. Best wishes, but if you are already having concerns why would you go thru with it?

Going on 54 years, always treat each other with respect, always go as boyfriend and girlfriend not companions, stroke the ego, everyone loves hearing great job or you did a great thing today. Always compliments each other on looks, cooking, doing things for each other to help each other with chores. Remember the other person is not a mind reader so tell them how you feel about things. Always discuss big purchases to gather! Good luck and DONT go in debt with a huge ass wedding, instead go on a honeymoon for the two of you! Best wishes for your future. 🥰

36 plus years married. secret, I love you very much but there are days I don't like you and days you don't like me. Every day is a choice to continue with your spouse. I keep choosing him. We have been through the mudd together. He is brain cancer free for 9.5 years. I thank God every day he is alive. we raised 3 children together and have 6 grand children. we have truly been Blessed. Getting married is easy, staying married is the hardest thing you will ever do but the best! good luck, keep your faith and choose each other🥰
