Comet ATLAS (not the famous one!) just couldn’t handle its wild ride around the sun and totally broke apart. Now it’s a glittery trail of space debris, not a single comet. Astronomers caught the breakup in action, and if you’ve got a telescope, you can spot the remains in Leo.
