A friend of mine rationing insulin is not some “news story” — it’s my actual life. She has two jobs and still has to decide which weeks she can take her medication properly. That’s not irresponsible. That’s the cost of staying alive in America. People love talking about “personal responsibility,” but how do you take responsibility for prices you have zero control over?
