People think “oh the shelter will make it all rainbows and butterflies and the dog will live a long happy loving life”……those shelters have to be staffed, the have to have supplies, and have the financial resources to remain open to try and help a fraction of the animals at their facilities…..they’re over crowded bc of owner ignorance and lack of responsibility….and an animal remains in a shelter until it’s adopted or fostered…four walls, cage door and that’s it…I’ve been in animals care going on 20 years and if people would just get their pets spayed and neutered the over crowding would probably be almost non existent…..if u can’t commit to being responsible for another life for at least 10 years maybe a little more maybe less but at least ten and can’t be loving, or understand that animals have feelings then maybe u shouldn’t get an animal…Christmas is the worst when parents think getting their kids a puppy is a good idea SORRY FOR RANT
