On September 20, 1988, Tara Calico vanished without a trace. The 19-year-old set out from her home in New Mexico for her usual bike ride and never returned. In a somewhat eerie twist, just before departing, she playfully warned her mother to come searching if she didn't come back. To this day, her whereabouts remain a mystery. However, in June 1989, a perplexing Polaroid surfaced in a Florida parking lot, nearly 1,500 miles from where Calico had disappeared. Though not officially confirmed, the image depicts what seems to be Calico, identifiable by similar scars and a nearby worn paperback, alongside a young boy, both tied up, gagged and clearly scared.
