A 64-year-old Birmingham woman is facing a murder charge after police say she admitted to shooting a man she’d been dating. Investigators say Bonita Brown and 64-year-old Thomas Williams met up in a park on November 23rd for sex, but things turned violent when Williams ended the relationship. A passerby later found Williams dead near his car on Maple Avenue, and Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. Detectives reviewed phone records, smartwatch data, and Flock camera footage, which they say linked Brown to the area moments before and after the shooting. During questioning, police say Brown confessed, telling investigators she “snapped” and shot Williams three times before dumping his phone near the airport and going home. Officers recovered the gun and shell casings from her house after she directed them to the evidence. At a hearing, a judge set her bond at $100,000 and ordered her into bi-weekly treatment, noting her role as caretaker for her autistic daughter. Prosecutors argued she could be a danger to herself, pointing out she’d been on suicide watch. Brown remains in the Jefferson County Jail as the case moves forward. #ChaunceyDatGuy
