NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope just picked up hints of methane on a planet called TRAPPIST-1e, which orbits a star 39 light-years away. Methane can be a sign of life, so everyone’s freaking out (in a good way). But scientists aren’t sure if the methane is from the planet or its star yet.
