Every time people argue about what Jesus was really like, it feels like they’re describing different people entirely. Some say he was gentle and forgiving. Others say he was bold and confrontational. Some focus on his divinity, others on his humanity. Maybe the truth is that Jesus can’t be flattened into a single personality type. He was compassionate and firm. Patient and sharp. Quiet in some moments, outspoken in others. I think we project a lot of ourselves onto him — what we need him to be. And maybe that says as much about us as it does about faith. #Jesus
