After seeing the Phillies give Adolis Garcia $10M and the Braves hand Ha-Seong Kim $20M for a year, maybe the Yankees’ $22M qualifying offer to Trent Grisham wasn’t the overpay we all thought. Sure, Grisham’s price tag raised eyebrows, but with mid-tier free agents cashing in big, the Yanks might’ve played it smart.
