This guy Nick needs to be held under a no bail status and be sent to an institution for care and evaluation. Something his parents should have done, but the love for your child makes decisions difficult, but not impossible. If he commits suicide, so be it. I have a great deal of empathy for the mentally ill, but there has to be limits as to when they need to be institutionalized.

What many commenters seem to forget is that Nick was an adult, and unless he was a threat to himself or others, he couldn't just be put in a mental institution. Schizophrenia is terrifying for anyone who has to deal with it in any way; that is why Romy Reiner was afraid.

From what I read, Rob and Michelle pretty much exhausted all resources to help their son. They never gave up on him. They loved him and were there for him. They were in need of Nick’s doctors offering Professional Medical help. There’s doctors that diagnosed him needed to provide more resources and guidance on how to treat a schizophrenic. There’s no manual.
