Shelter animals in Charlotte are getting life-saving surgeries and care this holiday season, all thanks to the community’s support. At Animal Care & Control on Byrum Drive, donations are directly funding emergency treatments—think amputations, eye repairs, and more—for pets who’d otherwise have nowhere to turn. Since mid-November, 44 special cases have been treated, each costing about $500. If you’re home for the holidays, consider taking a shelter dog out for a day or even making a donation.
