Recent analyses of “annual corporate welfare” – the umbrella term for government‑handed‑out subsidies $56 billion, tax breaks $82 billion, loan guarantees, bailouts $90 billion, price supports $180 billion, preferential procurement $350 billion, regulatory exemptions $350 billion and other special treatments that benefit specific firms or industries $56 billion.
These numbers are dated but probably much higher today, especially after the big beautiful bill!
So!!! All this you hear about welfare fraud being a , major major problem may be missing the target!
Total costs of people desperately trying to provide for families on welfare - $59 billion—much linked to underpaid employees.
