Parents must show them tough love rather than enabling them. As someone that has struggled with addiction and mental health issues, I can say that as long as someone is enabling a person, they will never change their ways. Why should they? They will be given everything. However, it’s a lot different when u have nobody to help u financially, someone to tell u what u wanna hear……The sad reality is that unless this person wants to change, he is never going to change!. It’s sad….very sad and hard to see but it’s the truth and he has stated he doesn’t want help.
