Farmers CANNOT continuously plant the same crop on the same land for decades w/ out soil / air/ water depletion that nobody's fertilizer or pestcide can completely restore. That's why seeds blow in the wind & get transferred by birds. Land that sits ungrown is being rested ; usually by intention. It's certainly NOT bcuz the farmer is lazy. Get up at the crack of dawn 365/ year,see how long you last, never mind diggin' ditches,repairing heavy equipment & on & on it goes. We should pay our farmers what is honorably earned by expending their own blood, sweat & tears!
