Imagine being born just in time to witness your team’s first-ever national football championship—and never knowing a losing season! That’s baby Maverick’s story. Born at just 28 weeks and weighing under 3 pounds, Maverick spent his first months in the IU Health Bloomington NICU, surrounded by IU football spirit. Nurses even joked he brought the team good luck! Before heading home, Maverick and his mom, an IU alum, got to see the championship trophy up close.
