If you’re not black and never had to go through what blacks go through then how can you make such a comment. I own my own business but before I did I worked for a whyt guy for almost 17 years, only missed days when either I was sick or one of my kids were sick not just because I was dedicated but because I thought this guy was my friend. He sold his business and I offered to buy just a small portion and he told me no , told me I should work for the guy he was selling it to. I was like .. after 16 years and you want me to just start working for this dude you’re selling it to? Anyways I took $3300 dollars I had saved up and bought some used pos equipment . Make a long story short, I built my business up from nothing, and 5 years later i can still see it was the hardest and best decision I’ve ever made. I have black friends who have owned their own businesses longer than I have. There are many black people who own their own businesses. Don’t think we’re always asking for a handout

I don’t understand why you are upset. I also don’t see how race played into this at all. You worked hard and now you own your business. The owner telling you no turned out to be the best thing for you! Look what you accomplished! Your accomplishments are what the story should be about. You missed an excellent opportunity to show the world your light, your passion and your commitment to your dreams. Instead you chose to speak about skin color. What a shame.

I lost an opportunity for a good management job at Pepsi to a black man with no experience, we both had the same degree but I had 10 years experience. I didn’t check the right boxes, you know reverse discrimination boxes called affirmative action. I didn’t complain about it, I just quit and started my own business. I’ve been very successful since then, own multiple houses, nice cars, money in the bank and only work 2 days a week. The hard times are what makes us who we are , treat them as an opportunity not an impediment.
