I agree it’s just an accident. I totaled my car by being a distracted driver. It happens. Yes it sucks and it looks like the car is drivable and the other option is to rent a car. As far as the guy claiming to be broke has nothing to do with the accident. Sound like this guy has an historic personality. They ten to create a whole new level of toxicity that is not remotely relevant to the issue. I would block him and just let the insurance company take the responsibility of communicating with him and you just stick to your responsibility.
