If everyone jumped on that trendy colorful bandwagon, humanity wouldn't last another 3 generations. And it IS a trend, a fad, etc. The birth rate of hetero male n female is generally balanced all the time. Even moreso when counting all the abortions that have occurred since the 70s. So a "surge" in the alphabet club causing its numbers to double means that there's no way that it's a naturally occurring phenomenon.
