The chain of sin and death has been broken in Christ Jesus. From the beginning, humanity felt the weight of it. Through one man, sin entered the world, and death through sin (Epistle to the Romans 5:12). What began in Book of Genesis 3 became a spiritual captivity — guilt, separation, corruption, and fear of death. But the story did not end there. Epistle to the Romans 8:2 declares, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Notice the language: set you free. Not managing sin. Not negotiating with death. Free. At the cross, Jesus absorbed the penalty. At the resurrection, He shattered the power. First Epistle to the Corinthians 15:55–57 proclaims, “O death, where is your sting?” Victory is not symbolic — it is accomplished. The chain that once defined you no longer has legal authority over you. This morning, stand in that truth. You are not bound to your past. You are not enslaved to fear. You are not condemned. In Christ, the sentence has been overturned. Life has replaced death. Light has replaced darkness. Walk today as one who has been liberated. The chain is broken.
