My roommate is obsessed with using the air fryer and somehow still refuses to clean it. Every single day they’re making something in it and then just leaving the basket looking like this. Oil, crumbs, random burnt stuff stuck to the bottom. At first I tried reminding them to clean it, but they’d always say they’d “get to it later.” Later never happened. I eventually just stopped saying anything because clearly they didn’t care. Meanwhile I’m the one paying most of the utilities in the apartment. Electricity, internet, half the rent, everything. And guess what appliance runs constantly in the kitchen? That same air fryer. So eventually I just stopped paying the power bill. I figured if someone wants to run appliances all day and leave them dirty, they can start contributing too. Well the bill finally came up again and I told them it was their turn to pay it. Suddenly it’s excuse after excuse. They don’t have work right now, they don’t have money, they’re trying to figure things out. I told them that’s not really my problem anymore. If you’re not working, at the very least you could be cleaning the apartment or doing something useful instead of leaving greasy air fryer baskets sitting around. At this point I’m just tired of covering everything while they act like none of it matters. If you can’t help pay for the utilities, at least act like you live here and take care of the place. But apparently that’s asking too much from someone who can’t even rinse out an air fryer after using it every day. Credit - okodre
