In Luke 22, it says Jesus was in such agony that His sweat was like drops of blood. For decades, I thought Luke was just using a metaphor to say He was praying really hard. But there is an actual medical condition called Hematidrosis. Under extreme, profound psychological terror, the capillaries around your sweat glands can burst, mixing blood with sweat. Jesus knew exactly what the Romans were going to do to His body. His human body was literally breaking down from the terror of taking on the world's sin. This wrecked me today. 🙏
