Romans 15:5 “Now may the God Who gives the power…”, it begins here, with God being the power and offering to give it to us. It isn’t odd or surprising… we probably don’t know how much we need it until we get to know Him, and realize how desperate we really are. When we kick ourselves… Pride, off the throne in our heart, and surrender to the One Who loves us and gives us life. God tells us we’re to patiently endure, and then He gives us the power to do it. When we’re weak, He’s strong, and when we can’t, He can. How many storms have we weathered, without Him… did the outcome change us… cause us to put on a character of bitterness, anger, hate, resentment, or despair? Even unforgiveness? Given that same storm, allowing His power to give us what we need to patiently endure, the outcome would be very different. Patient endurance allows spirits of Joy and Peace to lift us up above our circumstances. “The joy of the Lord is my strength”. The ‘gift tag’ on His power to patiently endure could very well read ‘just breathe… you’re not alone, trust Me, Love, God’. The gift of His power includes encouragement drawn from His Word… He gives it, are we ready to receive it? Most often it comes when we’re still and desperate, when we’re pressing in and trusting Him to carry us through. When we bring it together, patient endurance, and mutual harmony, we begin to get it, gain understanding. Patient endurance is necessary in order to have mutual harmony. There’s beauty in diversity, but when Pride shows up, it turns to adversity. By the power of God, we ‘armor up’, in Humility we raise our shield of faith and sword of the spirit, we defeat Pride in order for Patient Endurance to take the victory. Our life is a battlefield, we’ve been given the power of God to take the victory. Humility, patient endurance, grace and mercy, love and forgiveness overwhelmingly conquer the enemy who seeks to kill and destroy, undermining the mutual harmony God desires.
