An 18-year-old man named Wendrik Santos da Silva, who was suffering from terminal intestinal cancer, escaped from the hospital in 2019 to satisfy a long-held craving for a hamburger. Despite his critical condition, he left the hospital without authorization. He reached a nearby restaurant but was unable to pay for the meal. In a desperate attempt to get help, he asked strangers for assistance. After eating the hamburger, his health rapidly deteriorated due to his already severe condition. Emergency services rushed him back to the hospital, but he passed away shortly thereafter.
