Who on earth is Melchizedek? (Did Jesus show up in Genesis?) 🤯

Okay, studying Hebrews 7 just broke my brain. It talks about Melchizedek, the mysterious priest-king who blessed Abraham in Genesis 14. The Bible explicitly says he has "no father or mother, no genealogy, no beginning of days or end of life." Wait, WHAT?! He just appears, collects a tithe, serves bread and wine (sound familiar?), and vanishes. Many theologians believe this was a "Christophany"—a physical appearance of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament before He was born in Bethlehem. People will come up with notions of who he is, they come up with conjecture that he was Seth or he was Enoch. However, it says in Hebrews, he had no beginning and no end no father no mother we know that’s not true of Seth or Enoch in the Old covenant “ testament”, Hebrews point out Abraham tithed to him so with the prodding of the Holy Spirit he was the incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ it’s just that simple anybody else had a mother and father anybody else had a beginning and an end?

When it talks about Melchizedek having neither father or mother, it has to do with the fact that he was not a high priest of Salem according to or in the likeness of the Levitical priesthood which did come through genealogy but that he was appointed by God not my man. In this way, he was a type of Christ who had a different priesthood than the Levitical one. There are other things that typed Christ, but this one was the main one. Christ is God appointed he does not get his priesthood through a genealogical line.
